Most people are familiar with the various Star Trek series of TV programs (Next Generation being inarguably the best), and its vast array of amazing inventions of the future. One of the most fascinating is the "transporter" which transports people and other objects by changing matter to energy, and then re-assembling it back into its original form in another location. It's something I would love to have around today. Imagine not having to leave for work until mere seconds before you have to be there!

Original, boring snapshot
Although the transporter may not ever exist in the way it does on Star Trek, today's digital image editors have somewhat similar capability. I recently made a photo of two of my nieces modeling their new Drew Brees Saints jerseys that their Dad had bought for them on a recent trip to New Orleans. The photo was made in their yard, which didn't make for a very interesting background. Too bad we don't have a transporter to take us to the field of the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans for a better background. Ah, I almost forgot! In the digital darkroom we do have such capability!

Gameday on the field at the Dome!
