Haywood County 9/11 Memorial

9/11 Memorial in Clyde, NC

A memorial to the victims of the 9/11 attacks that especially remembers the firefighters who lost their lives that day, now stands in front of the Volunteer Fire Department firehouse in Clyde. The memorial contains two pieces of steel from the collapsed World Trade Center towers. The steel was given by the New York Port Authority who has provide pieces of steel from the twin towers for hundreds of 9/11 memorials across the country.

The fence around the memorial is modeled after the famous steel facade of the WTC towers.
